Calculating Property Tax

The following sample property tax worksheet uses 2009 Orleans Parish millage rates and a home valued at $125,000. For the most recent millage rates for Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, and St. Charles Parishes, scroll down to download a .pdf file.

Orleans Parish
Parish Millage .13010
Fire & Police .01047

Unlike other parishes, Orleans Parish has separate Fire and Police taxes which are never exempt. Fire and police taxes are included in the .13010 millage rate if there is not a homestead exemption.
